LONDON - The United Kingdom announced that it will join the Efficient Energy for Sustainable Development Partnership (EESD) of the U.S. Clean Energy Initiative. Just about one month earlier, the United States announced that it joined the U.K.'s Renewable Energy and Efficiency Partnership (REEP). Both partnerships promote sustainable, affordable energy in the developed and developing world. Under the most recent agreement, the partners agreed to work together and leverage their staff and funds, getting the most bang for the buck "to maximize their impact in building markets for renewable energy and energy efficiency," according to the Department of Energy.
