Permatex® brand thread sealants secure pipefittings in a multitude of applications. By preventing the loosening caused by vibration, tape shredding, solvent evaporation, and temperature cycling, they prevent leaks that waste liquids and energy in compressed air, hydraulic, and other piping systems. The anaerobic thread sealants provide reliable locking of metal pipe fittings, sealing instantly for low-pressure testing, then curing to the burst strength of most piping systems. Resistant to moisture and corrosion, all formulations withstand temperatures from -65° to at least 300° F and contain a lubricant to prevent galling and simplify assembly/disassembly. They are available in a range of grades/strengths. Also, a variety of Permatex nonanaerobic thread sealants are available, including Pipe Joint Compound, a lubricating, low-viscosity (40,000-cps), noncuring, universal sealant; and Thread Sealant with PTFE, a general-purpose, noncuring formulation that remains pliable at high and low temperatures.
