Intellidyne LLC: Forced-Air Heating Fuel Economizer

March 24, 2008

The IntelliCon-FA microprocessor-controlled forced-air heating system fuel economizer modifies the normal burner run patterns, dynamically adjusting the length and number of cycles. According to the manufacturer, the unit has been shown to reduce fuel consumption by an average of 11 percent, while also decreasing pollutant emissions. The illuminated LCD display on the economizer gives an immediate readout of the percentage of fuel being saved and the hours of “economizing time.” The display also offers information on operating modes, system diagnostics, and discharge and return air temperatures. IntelliCon technology uses real-time load-demand analysis and control. The control continuously determines the optimum firing pattern while the unit is in operation, modifying the burner cycle to offer reductions of energy consumption, equipment maintenance requirements, and pollution.
