Kavlico Corp., Custom Sensors & Technologies: Refrigeration Pressure Sensors

March 24, 2008

The P528 family of ceramic capacitive refrigeration pressure sensors are perfectly suited for high-volume applications in refrigeration compressors, rooftop chillers, and refrigerant recovery systems, says the company. The devices feature a brass housing with a 3/4-inch external hex, and is based on the company’s fourth generation 16-mm ceramic technology. They can be used for high-volume applications requiring ± 2 percent or better accuracy over the normal -40° to 185°F (-40° to 85°C) operating temperature range. The sensors are powered by a regulated 5-V power supply configuration that produces a standard 0.5-4.5 V ratiometric output. Pressure ports available include 1/8-27 NPT, 1/4-18 NPT, and 1/4 SAE female threads with Schrader deflators. The devices are compliant with European RoHS directives.
