Miller Electric Mfg. Co.: MIG Welder

March 24, 2008

The Millermatic® 180 with Auto-Set™ is a 180A, 230V MIG welder. The Auto-Set feature is designed to work on mild steel using C25 gas (75 percent argon, 25 percent carbon dioxide.) The welder gives the user the capability to weld from 24 gauge up to 5/16-inch mild steel in a single pass. To use, select the wire thickness (either 0.023 or 0.03 inches), set the machine to the material thickness being welded, then start welding. The machine is automatically set to the proper voltage and wire feed speed for the job. A material thickness gauge comes with the welder. In the instances where Auto-Set cannot be used, the manual mode can be utilized. In manual mode, the welder is set up like any other MIG machine. The user sets the voltage and wire feed speed according to the provided parameter chart.
